I am looking at putting some lights over the garage door and was thinking of a photocell to bring the lights on at dusk but then have a timer to turn them off at a certain time before going onto a PIR for other times during the night.

I have found that I can combine two of the functions with this:

Steinel Nightmatic Photocell Switch 3000 - Black (tlc-direct.co.uk)

Are then any good? The option is to use individual components with a DIN rail mounted timer in an adapatable box

Thanks Bernard. I had heard the name for other things but not photocells.

I just need to find out if the output is relay or semiconductor in case I add the PIR

I have installed several of these. Bullet proof and very good bits of kit. Relay output.

You’ll need to read the instructions carefully to understand the time off functions, but once set you can forget it.
