Hi guys,

When the hot weather comes our shower (Triton T80) is too hot, even when turning the dial to cold. Any idea why it does this?

We live in a hard water area and the shower is approx. 6 yrs old.

Thanks in advance.

Poor water pressure/flow most likely. There's no temperature control in electric showers, the element delivers a fixed amount of energy per minute to the water, which could raise the temp of (for example,) 10 litres by 20 degrees or 5 litres by 40 degrees. If flow rate is low and incoming water is warm there's your problem.
Check l/min at the kitchen tap (or outside tap if you have one) and at the shower.

Thank you oldbutnotdead, I'll try that.

I took the shower head off yesterday and I could control the temp just fine without it. There were also some green coloured deposits that fell from the shower head.

Thanks again.

You have not quoted your flow rate.

But it sounds like the shower head has become scaled up.

You can descale it with any mild acid and even just vinegar. Or one of the proprietary descalers.

I would use hydrochloric acid but then I have good stocks as I use it for descaling boilers.
