Triton shower running hot and cold

We have a Triton T80 electric shower which has recently started running hot and cold. It goes from boiling hot to freezing cold and back again. I cleaned the shower head and hose out with vinegar and this seemed to help it for about a week before the problem returned.


We’ve checked the inlet filter and it appears to be totally clean. There have been tiny blue and black grains coming out of the hose when we’ve cleaned it and taken it apart.


The shower seems to cycle between hot and cold when the shower head is attached but when the shower head is removed and the water is only coming through the hose it stays on a cold setting only (no matter how high you turn the temperature up).


Any ideas what the problem is or what we need to do next?

If you turn the large dial fully clockwise ,thus slowing down the flow ,and just the hose attached ( no shower head ) does the water get hot then ?

Try with new hose and head , if still a problem the unit may be choked inside with limescale .
