Hi

Bit of a strange one, and I have contacted a plumber but they won’t be able to come until after Easter which is fine. Just wondered if anyone had experienced similar.

We have a Camray 5 boiler, and for the last few months we have had the heating on ‘timed’ and hot water to ‘on’ - constant. As the weather has improved we switched the heating off.

This seems to have somehow confused the boiler
The heating remains on (radiators blazing hot) even though it says it’s off. But we have no hot water even though it’s switched on.

We had a new control panel fitted a few months ago and since then this is the first time we have ‘changed’ any settings. Could it be related?

I just wondered if anyone had experienced the same or similar. It’s almost like the control panels the wrong way - heating on when switched off etc - how is that possible?

Thanks in advance!

The diverter valve must be passing, sending hot water to the radiators. You more than likely need a new valve body, but it could equally be the motor-head stuck in neither one way or the other.

The black box sounds like a burner control box which has no effect on the boiler programming. There is not really anything you can do witout a multimeter and an understanding of the boiler circuitry. It could be a diverter valve head, or the P.C.B. or the programmer. does this boiler use the integral programmer or do you have a separate wall mounted unit?

No it’s an integral programmer. Nothing on the walls.
We’ve got a friend (who is a plumber) coming to look at it tomorrow fingers crossed he can get it sorted!
