Deepish cracks and gaps in wall

Thank you. Is PVA acceptable to try first?
Much appreciated. Forgive my asking what ratio PVA to water?
My experience of repairing holed plaster board and deep cracked wall finish, was to use some kind of fibrous scrim soaked in PVA then fed in via putty knife to just below surface. When set hard a thin skim of a good powder filler did the job well. I got this tip from an old school painter about 30yrs ago, maybe longer, and that scrim roll made all the difference
