Hi if anyone has any advice on what we should do here, the door architrave has got to be put on, but it doesn't quite reach the wall connecting, when it's been fitted there will still be a 2 inch gap, has anyone got any advice on how to fill this gap and connect it up the plastered wall?

Many thanks

I'd just select some form of larger architrave. If you keep it bland rather than moulded then it won't look too bad.
Trying to skim as you've probably discovered, isn't going to work being on to wood and, if you attach plasterboard and then skim, it will leave you with different levels.

Hi thank you, so the architrave has been ordered 2 weeks ago, it's a decorative kind, it's coming tomorrow,
This is new to us so we've never plastered or bonded before, cause it's only a small area we was hoping we would be able to do it ourselves. Yeah we did think that with the plaster board.

You could use thinner board, 6mm or 9mm and skim over. Obvs taping the joints before feathering in. And still use the new architrave that you've bought.
