I have had vented roof tiles fitted 18 months ago and we had a infestation of cluster flies get into loft , we had pest control in and they smoked them out but they have come back now it’s turned cooler, we have put mesh in as much as we can in gaps but am wondering do the vented tiles need to be taken back off and mesh fitted properly then nail tile back on top?

You have to keep killing and cleaning because they can smell where clusterflies have been before.

They can get in through tiny gaps.

You can get slow release insecticide cartridges that will control an average sized room. Maybe use several if your loft is well ventilated.

Three months life.

Cluster flies manifest in a roof - with or without vent tiles.
