I've seen socket beads attached around a socket on a plasterboard wall. The bead is stapled to the plasterboard.

Are these socket beads also attached to brick/block walls? If so, I guess adhesive of some description is used to adhere to the wall.

They wouldn’t be directly fixed to the brick/block though. They’d be on whatever the substrate to be skimmed was. As they’re only skim beads. So board, or backing plaster (hardwall, bonding, render etc)
