Also a hammer. once the rail and hooks are removed with the screwdriver, use the hammer to demolish the wooden housing, beware of hitting the gas meter. 
BTW, is there a gap above it? it may be that it's on brackets and can lift off?

I'm asking myself 'Why do you need access to your has meter' ?
You can't do anything to it, and you can't move that display panel.

Access is required, to the isolation valve, to enable the gas to be isolated. It doesn't look accessible at the moment.
A good point Harry; I'd just assumed that's what the square hole cut in the front was for.
