Yes, they call it discrimination. I call it survival. Same in The States. Number of times we were told which parts not to go to in certain towns. Always the hoods.

it's more about differences than race in my experience. my home town is 4000 people, to my knowledge there is 1 Chinese family and one black couple. If the black couple walked into a pub, people would turn and have a look. Not because they are black, but because it's an unusual site. the same would happen if a white man walked in with a 5 inch nose. There are those who are racist on the inside though i.e wouldn't treat a black person any different in public but would go home and make a racist joke or two. People fear what they don't know, and that's the downside of lack of racial diversity
