In the context of this thread, they have not claimed asylum. Perhaps they feel safe living illegally in their "sanctuary city".

If you actually go to the IRS site it paints a different picture.
The numbers included in your sources, include for example the tax I pay, despite not being a US citizen, or living or working in the US. I have US generated income which I pay US taxes on. It's called withholding tax. If you go to the IRS site it's quite clear that employers will be subject to fines as well as taxes.
