I’ve got a Flex 50 panel that is now over 10 years old. F182-E1-110. FX050 V1.10
I’ve got 10 wired and 9 wireless zones but want to add at least 3 more wireless zones.
I did manage to get notifications working at one point, but have never been happy with the GX Remote app and having such old firmware makes it a waste of time to continue. My options seem to be replace the whole system which I looked into but very expensive, add a 3rd party reporting function like selfmon, upgrade panel to V3 with selfmon. I’m a retired homeowner who has done a lot of research and has pretty good basic knowledge of my system and how to make programming changes. Any recommendations on a path forward?

I have a Honywell Galaxy Flex 20 and recently became aware of their discontinued push notification service. Agreed, it was poor, but it was something.

So, Ive figured, how hard could it be to do this ourselves. By capturing data between Honywell server and the panel and tie it together with whatever information I could find online I finally managed to make a Python script that could recieve the SIA reports itself, instead of the Honywell server, so no extra hardware or rewiring needed.
To send push notifications the script uses ntfy.sh which is free and no registration is needed.

But you need to host it youself, so it requires a linux or windows machine to run on, locally.
When it is setup it will give you the same notifications that the GX app did but via the ntfy app instead.

If you are feeling up for it, give it a go
Setup instructions for Linux and Windows are in the Readme file.

And if anyone is interested, detailed information about the tcp-sia protocol Honywell is using could be found under the galaxy folder.

Wow, truly impressive piece of work.
I went with the panel upgrade to V3 and Selfmon. All has been working very well for the past couple of weeks. Thanks to the Galaxy Guy for his assistance.
