Vaillant EcoTec810 plus Heating Not Working

See the last zoomed in pic 1.4mb.
It's like a big jubilee clip. The ends are digging into the boiler housing.

The housing for that r d clip is totally loose I didn't even yank it, it's ready to come off.

Pins seem straight.

Yep, still looks ok to me. That’s just the circlip that Vaillant use, I feel it’s touching (not digging into the metal) then it’s fully home.

Except you seem to be missing 2. There’s usually 4, possibly more, I only see 2. I’ve had a few where they’ve been bashed about, yours looks the same. Lack of pins, means lack of motor movement. You need to send the motor back to whoever sold it to you and or ask for a replacement.

Best photo I can get without getting one from my van:

Not sure how your engineer managed to get hot water. Either they damaged the pins or they ran the boiler in P1, which by some fluke gave hot water.

There's 4 pins. Camera is just rubbish.

Says he's going to check the motor tomorrow and see if diverter is opening closing.

Not sure if I should call someone else at this point. I'll see what he diagnoses as tomorrow if obvious go with the fix. If still trial and error perhaps call someone else.

Ok, I’d go with letting him have a chance to repair it.

So engineer came back.
Checked if the pin in the diverter valve was moving couldn't confirm.

Did some tests manually in the diverter valve to see if functioning and switching and it was.

Put the front part back on (guess it's called controller) where the pin is meant to move and same problem. No hot water.

Replaced the original Vaillant one with a spare from the van. Only the first part within the diverter valve that controls the pin guess it's called the controller.
It worked we now have hot water and heating. However still have error symbols and fault codes. Engineer quickly said it's fixed and disappeared. With the original vaillant controller part of the diverter valve.

I've now also tested from everything cold:

When hot water running the flow pipe slightly warms up but no longer gets hot. Radiators do not get hot.
Error code: S.14

Turned heating on and flow pipe becomes really hot. Radiators all working.
When on error code: S.17
When flame symbol off getting S.0
When symbol on getting S.3 - S.5

When firing hearing some water pushing/trickling when switching between hot water and heating.

Is there anything I can try before I call a different engineer ?

Also I would really like to understand what the issue was with the vaillant controller that he took. As I'm now left with an important piece of the valve which is non-genuine. Potentially wasted money time and effort getting it.

For me this isn't over yet as Id like to understand what's happened during the repair.

As I mentioned on previous posts but I didn't make clear, they are status codes not error codes. Apologies, I meant to check the motor for pin numbers but got waylaid. Will do it now and upload - brand new one I've opened just to show you what it should look like

All seems to be functioning normally:
S14 - Status 14 - hot water demand
S17 - pump overrun on hot water after demand finished
S0 - no heating demand
S3 - ignition sequence
S5 - pump and fan running

As I also mentioned to you it seemed the diverter motor wasn't in great condition, so he's obviously swapped with one he had.

That's very helpful to know. Thank you for posting this.

I forgot to mention that I'm still getting the egg timer and small circle symbol with upwards arrow in it.
Does this mean it's still in anti cycle ? Pressure is low bordering too low. Sounds like could be air in the system but I'm just guessing.
