I'd some electric welding to do today and amongst my usual assorted grey rods, were some pink rods. Anyone know what the pink indicates please?

Can't help Harry with his query. Though there was the time when the then Prince Charles had to consult his doctor because his Hampton had turned mauve. The Dr advised him to stop dipping it in Di (dye).

I think HWM's answer must be the correct one - they are VDX, so absolutely fine for my general use. I initially thought they might be some special metal, SS, or similar.
