Oman has rejected the Toll charge idea. Its no surprise, because half of it is theirs.

Prohibition of Fees (Article 26): UNCLOS specifically prohibits charging fees on foreign ships just for sailing through a territorial sea.
Transit Passage (Articles 37-44): Ships, including tankers and military vessels, have the right to continuous, rapid, and unimpeded passage through international straits.
Permitted Fees: Fees can only be levied as payment for "specific services rendered" to the vessel, such as pilotage or specific safety services, and these must not be discriminatory.

Apparently Iran is saying they are providing you with a "security service" and therefore it's a permitted fee

Dear mr ship, please pay $50k or we wont protect you from our bombs.

Perhaps we could do the same on the channel.

$2 million per ship, for large tankers that equates to a dollar per barrel, not so viable for container ships carrying low value goods.

Funny old deal where Trump has declared he has secured peace when it was him who was the aggressor to begin with. Yes Iran is a volatile terrorist country which could have been dealt with through his allies.
We sent our only ship limping into the Mediterranean then to break down and really made us look a force to be reckoned with.
Has he actually spoke to anyone else about this amazing deal.
What’s his next move in two weeks time when he realises this isn’t really any deal that benefits anyone. We were better off before he had this inspiration.
Let’s hope he doesn’t come up with another great deal for Russia and Ukraine.

Seems it's become the 'normal far right ideology' to claim that if something has got worse it's still a 'victory'...

And to never admit that the 'strategy' was f*cked up from the start...

Something that we in the UK are also painfully aware of !

Didn't someone on here have 'strategy' to leave the U.K. for good with their whole family if Brexit became a reality? Pretty sure I remember them saying they had bought their one-way tickets outta here and had a shipping container to load the whole contents of their house into.

I wonder how that strategy turned out?
