Trump threatens to retreat from Iran

Just saying the same on R5L.

The world is no safer than when Bibi and Orangina started their jollies.

Tens of thousands of people dead.

And all that's happened is Orangina has legitimised an Iranian turnstile on the Straits.

Genius.
Plus a lot of Trumps associates and friends have got a lot richer through the markets.

Meanwhile back in the Strait, I see another ship, free of the scum stain of Trump sailing along nicely...

One of the seven Malaysian-owned commercial vessels stranded in the Strait of Hormuz has been granted safe passage and is now heading to its destination, Malaysia’s foreign ministry has said.

This is looking so embarrassing for Trump. The orange ídiot has never looked to weak.
Iran has been quietly allowing dozens of ships through the strait for some weeks. Russia, China, Japan, Pakistan, Turkey, even France. Anyone who will pay.

So kind of like a 'tariff' then...

Could you tell us who decided that this was a valuable weapon, to be used worldwide against friends and foes alike? ;)

No not really. More like a toll. Tariffs don't normally apply to things passing through. ;)
Passing through?

As in borders?

Or territorial waters?

You can still allow movement as required whilst charging a tariff...

Ask the orange rapist...

Asked on Monday whether he would accept a deal that would allow Iran to take fees from ships to traverse the strait, the US president said: “What about us charging tolls? I’d rather do that than let them have them. Why shouldn’t we? We’re the winner. We won.”

So your reliance on semantics betrays you ;)

A toll, we agree. ;)

But 'fees' were mentioned...

Which is a tariff...

But hey, you spend the next few pages arguing with yourself on semantics if you like...

However it all adds up to the same thing...

Money charged/handed over for political/strategic leverage!

The more important question is how America can grant Iran a right contrary to international maritime law.
