PC Andrew Harper's

The outrage about PC Harper was understandable, and I share it, but there are several hundred other manslaughter prisoners that the press aren’t worried about because the story isn’t triggering enough. I’m all for more nuanced sentencing but press interest and AI is a recipe for unfairness.
Have you read the sentencing remarks?

These crims should not be out on the streets early.

I think facts are good, in the case of Bowers and Cole, each received a sentence of 13 years with two thirds being spent in prison or 8 years 7 months with the rest on license.

Time on remand is counted as part of the prison sentence so they had 7 years and 6 months left in prison from the day they were sentenced, having served 1 year on remand.

Date of sentence was 31st of July 2020 so their initial release date was December 2027 and from the government it seems that they will be released in march 2027 some 7 months early.

I cannot fathom how we get in the media that they are being released from a 13 year sentence , when they were only going to serve 7 years and 6 months in prison from sentence date.

I think the initial sentence was wrong, but at the time nobody thought it was unduly lenient there were no sentence appeals.

Whilst it sticks in the gut that they seem to be getting off, its by 7 months not five and half years.

In Bristol there are 3 rapists on tags that are doing their sentence at home, time on tag counts the same as time in prison, so I can only imaging what their victims are going through as there are no units to take them.

Is some justice better than none ?

No reason to let them out 7 months early then. Unless its to enable them to commit more crime, so they can be recalled. Not really a great strategy.

Regarding your 3 rapists, I'd read their sentencing remarks (I haven't) it will help you work out the circumstances.

Sentencing remarks and sentencing is about the length of time they must serve, befor being considered for release - i.e. a bit late criticising the sentence once they are up for release. If you agree with the sentence then you agree with the release.

Sentencing remarks don't have any bearing on how they have behaved once they are serving their sentence. Who said they are being let out 'early'?

Israel is defending itself against various countries around it.
Those countries im the Middle East that are not attacking Israel this time round are just very wise.
So you think the mass murder of 75,000 innocent people is justified?

Are you talking Syria or Iran?

You're not the brightest are you.
