Hi All

I have a Hotpoint Aquarius DF52 coming up to 8 years old. It's decided to stop draining so I checked filter etc and that was ok. The water is cloudy and must be soapy water.

I pulled the machine out and lo and behold it appears that the grey drainage pipe thingy appears to have sprung a leak so am assuming that this is why the water's not going out (please let me know if this is a wrong assumption!).

I'm planning on replacing this myself. However, I am a fairly typical girly and I can't find the manual and I can't work out how I disconnect the hose from the machine to replace it! I'm again assuming that I can just buy replacement hose from DIY type place.

Can someone please help a damsel in distress?

Many thanks

Claire

When you say the drainage pipe has sprung a leak, can you actually see a hole or split in it? If there is just water on the floor it's much more likely that the drain is blocked. However, this doesn't explain why the machine is not pumping out.

If it is just the hose needs replacing you will probably have to take the machine apart to change it. It's not a quick fix I'm afraid. The hose will be available to order from a domestic appliance spares shop (try the yellow pages), not a DIY shop.

if you are sure it is the grey drain hose that is damaged, tip the machine over onto its back and you should see where it is attached to the pump.

It might be retained with a wire or plastic clip, but you can get a stainless Jubilee hose clip of similar size in a motorists accessory shop, which you will find easier to fit and tighten, and is far superior.

BTW if it is not draining it is possible that the pump is jammed e.g. with a coin or bit of bra wire or a sock. You will have to look in the instructions to see how to clear the pump, it may be a simple DIY job.

If the pump is jammed you will be able to drain the machine by lowering the hose to floor level into a bowl.

You can change the hose on your DISHWASHER but this is not the reason it is not pumping out the water, the pump is jammed with a foreign object or is faulty, part no for hose is 1800011, there are a few parts that are now obselete for this model
