    Air Flow in Disused Chimney

Currently the chimney pot has a China-man's type guard on the top. I have no plans this year to do anything with the chimney. As I live in a bungalow, I may start at the top and have the stack and chimney brick work in the loft removed followed by the bit in the kitchen to give more space!

    Air Flow in Disused Chimney

I have read many comments on the Forum which say, let air flow up the flue to prevent dampness. I am removing my old central heating boiler. What is left behind will be a 5" flue liner surrounded by vermiculite. (The already opened up fire place will be an ideal place for the new fridge)...

    Porcelin Floor Tiles Adheshive

Last year I tiled my bathroom floor with disastrous results, with the adheshive going off too quick for me (15 mins!) and the waterproof grout not coming off cleanly from the rough tile surface. I want to lay tiles on my kitchen screed floor later in the year with similar tiles. As I am a...

    Old HW and Heating System

The reason for fitting the stat etc, was to have some control over the heat when the place was being used by my family at weekends or in winter. Otherwise it would run too hot when not required to! Is there an alternative to the standard room stat on the market, whereby it can be set at, say...

    Multi-Core Cable Central Heating wiring

Can somebody please explain waste pipe sizing

One tip! Although I can't answer the problem, please be aware when purchasing the waste pipe, as it differs slightly depending on whether you are fitting sliding joints or the glued type! Suggest taking the joint with you, then you can double check!
