The other thing I just thought is maybe grease on the walls made the finish come out patchy. Did you clean and sand the walls prior to painting? Maybe give that a try... sand then clean or clean sand then clean again.

All I can think is it wasnt mixed properly or enough passes with the roller made. Someone else might have some other suggestions though.

Thanks for your reply Ken. It seems it could be on of those. I was going to run a stud detector over it and see how many pings I get which might give away a bit about how its made. I measured it last evening and it was 6cms wide

Yep it does have a gravel trench underneath the fence so if its his fence its not so bad from a drainage perspective. I might put up a overhand down the side of the house and butt it upto his roof. You can see from the pics there is a wall plate on the wall from where a shelter used to be.

After grouting and then a few days later rain the wobble has disappeared.

Floor is chipboard from what I can see. Upstairs bathroom floor. I did use the multi tool and regrout in the end. It worked well and the job didnt take long but I have small pinholes in the grout at some points. Maybe I could of spent longer sweeping out the old grout powder which im guessing...

I would plug the holes with mortar not filler if possible. The mortar colour will blend in or be less noticeable. Having to stare at the white filler will just annoy her years down the line and she'll hold a grudge.
