I've cut some threads off of the track rod end cos couldnt get nut on .. will it pass MOT like this ? Pic included

It looks like you knocked the crap out the nut too. New trackrod ends and nylocs required for you and other road users safety. With the correct tools & technique there's no need for that damage.

Immersion tank leak I can’t fix

Hemp was banned decades ago on potable water connections. Try Loctite 55 string instead of tape.

Which drill for bricks- Rotatory Hammer Drill vs. Impact Drill

Sure if you go mad it will blow the opposite face off the brick as the bit breaks through but so will a traditional impact/percussion drill. You've got variable speed and you can always pilot hole drill first with less risk of breakout. Once you've used SDS you will never waste anymore time with...

Which drill for bricks- Rotatory Hammer Drill vs. Impact Drill

Get the PBH... Apply a little grease to the SDS bit (chuck end!) and let the drill do the work...you don't need to apply loads of pressure.

Drainage hose issues, is this plumbed in correctly

Get a compression elbow and a bit of pipe and rejig the valve so it points down. Then feed the hose up through the base of the unit so it's not strained. Deburr the hole through the unit base.

flooded garage no sign of leak around pipes. Has any pulmber came accross this before?

Are you terraced/semi ? I got called to a major leak at a terraced house and it was so bad it ran through the party wall...the neighbours had also called out a plumber thinking they had a leak.

    PSI/Bar of an expansion vessel

In the past certain manufacturers eg. Ariston were sold through builders merchants and being cheaper than many other makes were frequently installed by non registered gas installers. Certainly in London most installs were rough. They're a nice boiler to work on with very few design faults unlike...

    PSI/Bar of an expansion vessel

Typically 0.8 Bar for a standard install ie. boiler not in the basement and several floors above (that would preclude a higher pressure)). Check pressure with zero pressure on the water side of the vessel. Be amazed if that vessel's still ok....but they were tough boilers given most were illegal...

Home working, what are the rules, pro, cons, etc?

I suggest you check whether you can get your buildings & contents insurance to cover it....anything apart from a purely admin role and it's almost impossible to find a suitable policy. There have been many articles published over the last few years looking into this hurdle, estimating that...

    Isolate Worcester bosh boiler leaking

Turn the boiler power off at the wall. A common leak is the LHS plastic manifold pin holing. The 2nd pipe (15mm) along from the RHS...follow it up into the boiler and turn the isolating valve 90 degrees. Hopefully that will stop it. Don't use the hot taps.

Baxi sparking on flame sensor - Engineer refuses to call Baxi

The trade's full of incompetence...the earth lead and spark symbol next to the electrode are more than enough to get it right, let alone the manual and shape of the electrodes.

Baxi sparking on flame sensor - Engineer refuses to call Baxi

If this is a Megaflo 2 GA then indeed the electrodes are swapped. However, this model has the dire gas adaptive system (it constantly monitors the gas/air mix using the flame sense electrode). It will be very confused as the flame current will be different between ignition & spark...

    Yorkshire Street elbow solder query

It depends if you're the typical diyer that spends an hour heating the joints but you could wrap a wet rag around the street elbow joint. With pump pliers gently crimp the end of the fittings so they grip the pipe...you can then pre-fab and solder the lot in one go. Offsets look a lot nicer with...

    Volvo S60 D4 2013 AC not working

As the scan live data is showing a pressure reading the AC system has an analog output sensor (and not a simple trinary switch) so don't go shorting out pins. Hope you didn't waste time with those diy cans...the refrigerant charge needs to be the appropriate amount for tge vehicle. We pressure...
