Baxi sparking on flame sensor - Engineer refuses to call Baxi

If incorrectly connected, when was this done? And how did it happen?
Was it after a routine service?
Else it would have been an issue from whatever point it was done!
So... Think back to when the issue first started to occur!

I'm not surprised he's reluctant to call them.... they'd p1ss themselves laughing when they find our what he's done! He's an absolute k n o b.

If this is a Megaflo 2 GA then indeed the electrodes are swapped.

However, this model has the dire gas adaptive system (it constantly monitors the gas/air mix using the flame sense electrode).

It will be very confused as the flame current will be different between ignition & spark electrodes. Don't be suprised if it takes a lot of setting up once the electrodes are corrected..it's not a job for the previous muppet to resolve.

Surely if the spark gas gone down the rectification side of the board it will be fooked???

The thickness of the wires is the obvious give away never mind seeing a spark at the completely wrong probe

Personally, if this is the standard your annual contract supplies, I'd be looking to jump ship as soon as it ends, if not before.

It's interesting that enough people seem to have made the same mistake that it actually gets tiktok videos.

I guess Baxi should consider making the two connectors incompatible in some way. Or maybe make the wires short enough that they don't reach to the wrong place, or something.

Congratulations on persevering with this incompetent for so long. I wouldn't have had the patience.

The trade's full of incompetence...the earth lead and spark symbol next to the electrode are more than enough to get it right, let alone the manual and shape of the electrodes.

This is the current setup - took a pic on the last visit. The lead cap colours look ass-backwards to every Baxi I've seen online. I don't have a pic of where the leads are connected.
Which lead ( black or red) discharges to earth.
Sure the left lead is the spark lead and right detector lead.
