I've got 50mm except for the edge of the parapet (where the photo shows) where the building plans have the cladding sitting on the top of the tyvek. At the bottom there's insect mesh. There's vertical and horizontal buttons with angled edges across the wall.

Heh, yeah, the gutters are desperate for a cleans. It's on my list. And your suggestion above, that would go under the rubber? What about something to edge on top of the rubber? Is that not needed?

There's a 50mm gap between the cladding and the back of the wall. That's not showing well on the photo. The gap on the lip is to allow for 2mm of movement. Not always perfect. Any idea about the requirement in my post above? On what I can use to edge the parapet?

It's proper Parquet, well, bamboo, but it's herringbone parquet that clicks together in to a pattern of your choosing. I've seen videos with both underlay and no underlay. But you're saying that you would use no underlay? Olly

Thanks all The pipe itself was open at one end and the other was cemented in to a new wall we had built so it's definitely not used. It used to head towards the old water tank. Recon it was the water input pipe once.

Nope. Partition wall goes right through. In the end I followed my wife's idea and layed several dust blankets down under and around it. Sparks a plenty, and at least two small fires in the dust blanket, but easily put out. And am now pipe free.

Hi all I'm currently insulating my loft to make it in a den for me to escape whenever anyone calls my name. I'm using foil coated insulation board of 50mm depth. To save my sanity, could I instead use insulated plasterboard, and just screw it on top of the rafters? Or perhaps both? :(
