ive been silenced by the flu! one of the walls was between a kitchen and a conservatory so i have technically removed this thus creating an extension. this seems to be the root of the issue. ive paid it and would have done in advance had i been advised to.

ive read a lot of contradictory info about hardie board. Im building a shower enclosure out of studs and using Hardie Backer 12mm board on all the wet walls. Can any kind soul tell me: vapour barrier over top of studs to top of shower tray allowing any water to travel back into the shower...

thanks for your answers. Ive used blocks to build the wall up on my side and sealed any cracks i can find on the council side. Not sure i want to put the young family next door through the pain of taking the council to task about this. but it doesnt look great
