RSG5DURS - water leaking from underneath each door hinge

I'm not a plumber (actually just popped on to see if someone had answered my question) but just wondered if your water filter was fitted correctly? I know some of those types of fridges have inline water filters that are mounted at the back and an incorrectly fitted one could be causing a small...

Some of my slabs keep coming loose?

Those pictures look lovely. A great finish. I didn't do our slabs, a guy came and did them for me but I really like your finish. Thanks for the pics. :)

What could be the problem with gas fire pilot light not lighting?

Hi all, I've a Gazco gas fire. It's wall mounted. The burner is comprised of three elements mounted next to each other. The thermocouple, the burner and the thing that makes the spark (sorry - don't know the official name). I had an issue whereby the fire was randomly switching off. Gazco tech...

Some of my slabs keep coming loose?

Hi Woody I just wanted to quickly thank you again for your excellent instructions. I tackled the job over the weekend and the slabs seem well and truly fixed down now! Will see how they get on over the winter but all looking good so far. Thanks again for all your help. :-)

Some of my slabs keep coming loose?

Woody, thanks very much for your detailed reply. That was just what I was after. I don't mind the English flag reference - I'm originally from Burnley but it made me chuckle! Thanks again for taking the time to write all that. I'll follow it to the letter. Cheers :-)

Some of my slabs keep coming loose?

Hi all, I have slabs at the top and bottom of my garden. The bottom ones are rock solid but the top ones keep coming loose. I've included a picture of one that came away completely the other day when my daughter stood on the edge of it (very nearly an injury - although her face was priceless!)...

    How to tile this fireplace....

Thanks Tiger. I've order some Vitcas heat resistant adhesive and grout. I'm not sure about edging yet as I'm quite clueless with tiling. I suppose a trip to B&Q will be in order? I would just want black edging I think. How does the edging fix on? Is it just glued on the same as the tile or is...

    How to tile this fireplace....

Hi all, The wife wants the bottom of the fireplace tiling up to the wooden beam (see pictures). I've got a couple of questions that I thought you might be able to help me with... Firstly... which way would you put the tiles on this... would you put them longways or up/down as per these photos...

Is it possible to reduce the diameter of a hole cut in plasterboard ceiling?

Thanks Bonni. I think I'm just going to bite the bullet, strip the ceiling of wallpaper and cut a patch of plasterboard and then patch up and paint. It'll be a lot bigger job but could probably do with a freshen. Thanks for everyone's help :)

Is it possible to reduce the diameter of a hole cut in plasterboard ceiling?

That looks ideal! Will have a look whether they do one in the size I want. Thanks! :) *Edit* - shame, the maximum size is 90mm unfortunately. Thanks anyway. Worth knowing about them. Cheers :-)

Is it possible to reduce the diameter of a hole cut in plasterboard ceiling?

Thanks motorbiking. Appreciate you getting back to me. I was fearing that there wasn't an easy way around this but thought I'd ask. I'll probably bite the bullet and cut a larger sheet of plasterboard out. It's a pain because the ceiling has wallpaper on and it'll mean stripping the whole...

Is it possible to reduce the diameter of a hole cut in plasterboard ceiling?

Hi there, I've changed my hallway downlight for a different type. There is a large hole cut (approx 140mm) in the plasterboard ceiling for the old type but the new type needs a hole about 10mm less in diameter all the way round. I just wondered if anyone has any advice how to fix this...

Will a plasterer be able to plaster this after I've applied plasterboard?

That's great 23vc. I'm going to let the plasterer fill the tapered board out. I just wanted to make sure it could be done. Thanks for the help. :) Great stuff Motman. I'm happy to crack on then and let the plasterer do his thing at the end. Thanks again for all the great advice :)

Will a plasterer be able to plaster this after I've applied plasterboard?

Thanks 23vc, Yep, I'll join the boards on the studs. I've ordered some Fireline board (tapered) that will arrive today. I'm going to ask the plasterer to skim the whole thing but was told that they can still skim on tapered board (only ordered tapered board as I want to start on Monday and...

Will a plasterer be able to plaster this after I've applied plasterboard?

That looks the business!!! Great work!! Yep, good advice on the plasterer. I'm getting the kitchen done next week so I'll catch the plasterer and ask him what he thinks and how much prep he would want if he was doing the job. Thanks again for your help :)

Will a plasterer be able to plaster this after I've applied plasterboard?

Why did you put ply on first if you don't mind me asking? The problem is that I really need the sides on first and then cut the plasterboard out for my patch panel (speaker wall plate etc) and then mount the front afterwards. What I might do then is have a look on YouTube on how to do the sides...

Will a plasterer be able to plaster this after I've applied plasterboard?

Hi all, Not the best worded question in the world but I was struggling how to get my point across in the title! My question is this..... I'm building a stud chimney breast to hold a gas fire and a TV. I'm going to add back-lights behind the TV and various sockets etc. So, I wanted to apply the...
