Led light Fitting not going off

Ok, a very technical fix for what I thought was a simple fitting swap. Take a look at the attached photo of the fitting I removed. Is the small white unit with 2 black wires a capacitor? If so could I attach to the led cable connectors to solve the problem?

Led light Fitting not going off

Hi, I have just replaced a traditional fluorescent strip light for an led one in my garage. All seems ok but when I switch off the brightness goes instantly but a feint light remains! Is this normal? Will this go over time or should it be instant? I have checked and double checked the wiring.

Change to System Boiler but keep existing H/W Cylinder?

JohnD: We have added one radiator since the boiler was installed and the plumber then, along with 2 different BG plumbers who have performed the annual boiler service have all said the current boiler is running at it's max and could not cope with additional rads; Stem: You are correct. Removing...

Change to System Boiler but keep existing H/W Cylinder?

Hi, I would appreciate some advice please. I need to upgrade my gas boiler to serve additional radiators. I currently have a conventional system (tanks in loft) and was considering a system boiler. Could I change to a system boiler while still using my existing cylinder or will I need a new...

Lighting off Radial Circuit (with diagram)

The blue and brown wires are the light fitting wires and the 2 yellow ones are the ones mentioned earlier. There is nothing else.

Lighting off Radial Circuit (with diagram)

Just to mention that the connector on the light fitting is screwed to the fitting itself as an earth (the connector with no wires in or out)

Lighting off Radial Circuit (with diagram)

Hi as they are both yellow and go through trunking it is possible that the diagram is wrong and the wiring is a you say. If it as you suggest, what is your recommendation?

Lighting off Radial Circuit (with diagram)

Hi, photo of voltmeter attached. The thick black line in the top left is the radial coming in. Its 3 core and the socket, fcu and switches are all earthed. The wires to the light are in fact single yellows. It's awkward to get at the fcu to take a photo but I have attached a photo of the switches

Lighting off Radial Circuit (with diagram)

Hi I have just bought LED strip lights for my garage to replace the poor conventional strip lights. I noted how the old ones were wired and wired the new strip light 1 the same way. I noticed the whole of the unit was registering live on my simple volt meter! I put the old one back to check I...

!st pic yes, attach to where the existing green & yellow (earth) wire is attached in the back of the socket. The purpose is to earth the socket to the metal box. 2nd pic, you could try some plumbers (ptfe) tape on the end of the bolt to "thicken" it fits tightly into the brass threaded nut.

    Painting Moisture Resistant Plasterboard

Hi, I have fitted moisture resistant plasterboard on my kitchen wall. I want to paint it. Can anyone advise whether there any need to seal with a diluted "mist" coat beforehand or not?

    Painting Moisture Resistent Plasterboard.

Hi I have a small wall above a kitchen worktop to dot and bad. It measures less that an 8x4 sheet so there will be no joints. I intend to have a row of tiles and then emulsion. As I'm using moisture resistent plasterboard is there any need to seal with a diluted "mist" coat beforehand or not? Oh...

Supply to basin in downstairs loo is fed by cold water only

One of these would really solve my space problem (and water efficiency) and it says it has a cold feed only. Currently out of stock but I am seriously considering. http://www.diy.com/departments/cooke-lewis-duetto-close-coupled-toilet-with-integrated-basin-with-soft-close-seat/808507_BQ.prd At...

Supply to basin in downstairs loo is fed by cold water only

I had a single storey extention built for a downstairs loo for my mum. At the time the only reqirement was a cold water feed to the toilet itself (as it's only a passageway away from the kitchen sink). I want to rent out the house now and I understand that a basin is required (ok i get that)...
