Vaillant Ecomax - Danfoss 51RF/RX1 = Help Please

Hi, My parents have just moved house. Their new home has a Vaillant Ecomax combi boiler, which was fitted in 2004. The central heating side of things is controlled by a Danfoss 51RF wireless thermostat. My Dad couldn't get it to work. I managed to download a manual for the thermostat, and...

    Corsa Brake Shoe Problem

I think everything is in the correct place, it's a mirror image of the off-side one, and thats behaving. I'm thinking it could be the auto adjuster pushing it away from the cylinder.

    Corsa Brake Shoe Problem

I have a Corsa -C and recently put a new brake shoes into the rear hubs. This weekend I started getting a noise from the nearside drum during travel, which disappeared when I pulled the handbrake slightly. I took the drum off to investigate and found that the shoe facing the front of the car...

    Sump Replacement Query

I am about to put a new sump on a '95 1.2 Corsa. The one on it has corroded and is leaking. I have the new one and a gasket. Will the gasket be ok on its own, or should I also use some sort of sealant? Any advice or tips on this job will be gratefully recieved. Cheers

    Combi Closed System - Cleaning?

As it's a good idea to flush out CH systems and put additives such as Fernox in, is it possible to do it with closed systems used with some combi boilers?

    Fitting Room Thermostat

Halstead have kindly sent me a copy of the fitting instructions, which includes wiring diagrams. I can now see how it all works. Am I right in thinking the CH thermistor is a thermocouple which the contol board uses to monitor the temperature of the water in the CH. Is there any way to...

    Fitting Room Thermostat

It's a built in timer. The boiler is a combi, all controls are on the front panel. A timer, and timer on/off switch, a switch for summer/winter (basically CH on/off), a heating temp control knob, a hot water temp control knob, and a gauge showing water temp & pressure.

    Washer/Dryer Suspension Fault?

The counter balance seems secure enough, and the bearing & motor seem ok. I'll try to check if there is anything between the drums. How much should the drum be able to move on it's suspension?

    Fitting Room Thermostat

Just had a quick look. Think I've found the correct terminal block. However there is no straight link. The block has 5 terminals. The first 2 are live & neutral 240 Volts which go into a connector on the PCB. The next is an earth. The next 2 terminals are what I'm after but they don't look...

    Washer/Dryer Suspension Fault?

Hello, The house I moved into has an "integrated" washer dryer. It has no brand name badge, and the user manual has no brand name, only the code "APM 8720". It is noisy during spin and dances about. I have tried levelling etc. I opened it up to see if a suspension spring had gone, to find the...

    Fitting Room Thermostat

Hi, I am thinking of fitting a room thermostat. My boiler is a Sime Halstead Trio combi, which controls the CH temp by a knob on the panel. I think this is playing up. Hence a room thermostat. Any advice on fitting one would be great please. I presume a simple thermostat is a straight switch...

Pipes banging like a Led Zep drum solo

I had this same problem. :( When I pulled up the floorboards to investigate, I found that the noise was coming from places where the pipes were tight up against something. Either another pipe, or flooring joist. I made good clearance for the pipes where they went throught joists, made...
