Sump Replacement Query

I am about to put a new sump on a '95 1.2 Corsa. The one on it has corroded and is leaking. I have the new one and a gasket.
Will the gasket be ok on its own, or should I also use some sort of sealant?
Any advice or tips on this job will be gratefully recieved.

Assuming its a cork gasket, the gasket alone will be fine. Just make sure all mating surfaces are clean and any bits of old gasket removed from the bottom of the block.

I wouldn't recommend using a sealant along with a cork gasket, only with rubber/plastic varieties

It is a cork gasket, so I'll give the sealant a miss.
