    Shower Screen Catching

Hi My shower screen seems to catch when I open/close it. Its an L shape on the bath. It looks like its slipped down at one end as the gap at the bottom is no longer square. When I put a spirit level on ever single edge, including the wall, bath, & screen, its perfectly square. Any ideas? Could...

Hi The ball cock in my loft water tank is not shutting off properly when full. It still trickles out the overflow after sitting for a while, like overnight. I am going to replace it, & was just wondering if theyre all 1/2” connection as thats all I can find. Not sure what size mine actually is...

    Adjusting UPVC Front Door

Here is some pics. Of the 3 hinges it looks like the top one has popped out somehow and is hanging squint? The gap is at the top right of the door, not sure if it can be seen clear enough.

    Adjusting UPVC Front Door

Hi My UPVC front door seems to have a gap at the top letting in a draft. From inside the house looking at the door, with hinges on the left, there is a gap at the top right of the door. Its as if it needs lifting it up at the right hand side. There is 3 hinges on the door. How do I adjust them...

    Door rubbing on new carpet

Hi Ive recently had a really thick carpet fitted in my living room. The doors were literally stuck closed once it was fitted so I removed them and planed a bit off the bottom. They open okay but drag slightly. Will this damage the carpet at all or just leave lines like when I hoover? I dont want...

    Changing kitchen light wiring

The ceiling rose will be fine. All the wiring will be removed from the spotlights and the spare switch will then be used for outside lights. Just need a wiring diagram for the ceiling rose to the single switch at each end of kitchen (switch at each door)

    Changing kitchen light wiring

The old spotlights will just be left disconnected in position until we do up the kitchen. Ill then remove them and plaster the ceiling. Access isnt an issue as am in bungalow and loft isnt floored

    Changing kitchen light wiring

My kitchen lights are currently 8 old style spotlights dotted about in the ceiling. The switch is a 3 way switch. One switch for outside lights, one switch operates half of the kitchen lights and the other switch operates the other half of the kitchen lights. Not sure why as each half that is on...

Everywhere Ive looked says different. Some say between 8 and 12 hours, some say 10 some say 12. Has anyone got any experience in this, or will I just put a box over it every day after about 5pm?

    Turning a poinsettia red again

Yeh I reckon it may get about 8 hours of darkness a night? Is this not enough or would it just really slow the process down? Maybe best off just getting a box over it

    Turning a poinsettia red again

Hi Ive got a Poinsettia from last year that is now mainly green. I know its now the time to start putting it in darkness, so was just wondering...if I put it up on top of my kitchen cupboards, which is in pitch black during the night (basically between 10pm-11pm onwards), would that be enough...

    Chilli plant

Theyve been on that windowsill for months now, no issues. Just seems since they started producing fruit they have really slowed down. Do they need extra feed/water whilst they are producing fruit? Maybe the temperature is slightly colder during the night now?

    Chilli plant

Hi I have chilli plants growing in my windowsill in pots. Some 2 to a pot & some single. They have all been growing fine, and recently they have all produced plenty of flowers and some have started producing fruit. But, since they have started to produce actual chillis its like the plants have...
