Haha I guess its like a lot of things until you come across or have experience you can only evert go by what your told (and of course understand). Just on a side note - obviously I have this 6mm cable coming through and if I want to use it for both appliances whats the best method to go from...

New garage consumer unit for oven in kitchen

No we ripped it out over 2 years ago as part of our refurb and have been waiting to move in since..! :D The only reason I questioned all this with the electrician (and that was the thought behind all this) was I was told that induction hobs require a 10mm cable to supply and that lead me down...

New garage consumer unit for oven in kitchen

ok so maybe 16mm (Ive been doing a little more investigating). Soooo Im thinking 16mm armoured cable and a mains switch with relevant RCBO's at the garage consumer unit end with a 45A at the house consumer unit end? We do have a cooker circuit in already but the 6mm cable isnt sufficient for the...

New garage consumer unit for oven in kitchen

Hi guys Just wanted to check that I wasn't completely barking and so I can prepare the materials for the electrician. We cant get a run from the current consumer unit to the kitchen to feed a new oven as the good old joists run the wrong way. So my thought is we can run some armoured cable...

Connecting up kitchen sink to 40mm solvent weld

I see what you mean - the waste has come in quite high once I get the trap kit on. Thanks for the heads up will have a look and yes the tee is glued but can easily be cut back if necessary. 32mm basin trap to 40mm waste pipe

Funnily enough I was just thinking that. Its 40mm coming out the wall so just coupler 40mm to 32mm and do the rest of the waste in 32mm to keep it simple. And you would go compression for things like this so you can change/check/inspect etc?

32mm basin trap to 40mm waste pipe

Hi guys..!! Not realising that basin waste is 32mm and bath kitchen is 40mm I plumbed the whole bathroom and ensuite in 40mm (not the end of the world). I since bought a 40mm bottle trap before realising that the basin was 32mm (again fine as I can use it for the kitchen) but I was wondering...

Stupid question alert - whats the name of a part?

Fitted it today with the pipe cut to the correct length (just past the end of the grommet) and pushed it all back (grommet was flush with the flange). It weeped/leaked ever so slightly but obviously over time this isnt good. Its a rubbery grommet and Ive read some use plumbers mate to seal -...
