Which fixings for plasterboard 3 boards thick

Rearranging a room and need to put a series of shelves up. However when putting in a new socket I found the wall is 3 boards thick for some unknown reason. I would normally use the anchor type fittings the you set with the gun, but I’m not sure they’d be long enough to get through the 3 boards...

Lifting wall paper after removing dado rail

So we removed a dado rail that had lining paper above and below. Sanded the edges of the wallpaper, easifilled the void, sanded then painted. On the whole it looks really good. However we've had a couple of areas where the wallpaper has lifted. What's the easiest way to remedy this? We're not...

    Is this paint dodgy?

Thanks. The only Dulux I’ve used in the last few years has been whites from Dulux decorator centre. We only got it today. It’s bending the stirrer to the point I think it’s going to break. How long do I need to stir this bugger for? What consistency should it be?

    Is this paint dodgy?

Got a time of Dulux wall and ceiling Matt from B&Q (yes I know) and upon opening it, it’s thicker than anything I’ve ever seen before. I’ve been stirring it for 10 minutes and it’s hardly losened. It’s lumpy and has a consistency of something like extra extra thick double cream. It doesn’t run...

What is this called? Sits behind strike plate

And where can I get one? So this door is one of two to the dining room. This sits behind the strike plate to level it out. We’ve stripped the doors down from the horrible brown so would like to get a polished chrome one. But I don’t know what it’s called or where to get one from. Can anyone...

    Repairing hole in bricks

So the previous owners had the tumble drier in the garage with a vent though the bricks to the outside. I know I’m going to need to replace a couple of the bricks, but how? Am I going to be ok chiselling/bolstering them both out? I’m not going to cause any structural damage? Thanks

    Scrim tape existing painted walls?

So I know I need to scrim new plasterboard joints, whether to new plasterboard or existing. But is there a definitive guide for whether to scrim internal corners of existing painted/skimmed boards? Thanks

    Replacing oven heating element problem!

That’s correct. The two clips in the picture don’t have a screw hole. The existing one does. I have a part from espares that does have screw holes but they don’t line up. Are those clips moveable then? If so I can nudge them along until they do align

    Replacing oven heating element problem!

So I ordered a spare oven element for our Electrolux EPDOM Premier Double Oven. However, the top and bottom screw holes don't line up. The two on the left where the connector clips connect are fine, as is the far right one. I've been on to Electrolux and the part they say fits doesn't seem to...

Can I tidy up master phone socket?

So I’m still a little bit confused. Got the new faceplate that fits. Lol However, there is only an A & B connector on the back of the new faceplate. Is this for internet? And the phone line stays on the master backplate in the 2,3,5 connectors? And do I need all three of those connections now...

Can I tidy up master phone socket?

That's quite alright. lol I'll watch that later when I get a chance. Just trying to get temp internet before the kids drive me up the wall. So with the existing socket I have, or the new one just lose fitted, is there a temporary way to get the ADSL things working? I've run two new cable to...

Can I tidy up master phone socket?

Also, does it matter what colour cables I use for ADSL. And on my slave socket I have 1,2,3,4,5,6. Which ones do I connect to? :/

Can I tidy up master phone socket?

So I’ve bought that socket and I assumed it just plugged into the front of the existing one. However it doesn’t. I’m a bit confused now. The current phone socket says Master Socket 5C. Is this compatible? :/

    Insulation in ceiling void

Wasn't sure where to put this so please feel free to move. Basically I've ripped out our downstairs WC and had to take ceiling down for access to pipes/wires. Above roughly half of the WC is a pitched roof that extends across to the garage. Previously there was some fibre insulation. I'm just...

Can I tidy up master phone socket?

Does this offer any benefit? Faster broadband speeds for example?

Can I tidy up master phone socket?

Thanks very much. One last question. lol When wiring to the slave socket, do both wires connect into that, then I use a microfilter? Or do I need to seperate slaves, one for phone, one for broadband?

Can I tidy up master phone socket?

Alternatively, is there a way of moving that master socket to where the slave socket is? I don't need the master where it is but don't know whether that's possible?
