What are the pros and cons ref siphon or flap valve in a WC cistern?

Is a 25 gal CWST typical for cyl. feed only? Is a 45gal CWST typical for a pumped shower? Would you always reommend a separate tank for a shower?

Low h/w pressure at bath taps.Lack of ht. on CWST. Would eliminating tank and feeding the cyl. direct from mains be a possible solution?

steve, thanks for the reply. No the shower switch is only hot in use but the I/H switch was pemanently hot(now replaced) intresingly, the neon had failed at an earlier date.. So i'll take onboard your advice. Thanks again.

Warm 45A shower switch plate, and warm 20A Immersion Heater switch plate ( house been re-wired 5 years ago). I've changed both plates, like for like, and both still slightly warm. Cable feeding the shower is stranded so presume its 6mm or 10mm( how do i tell which one?).2.5 on I/H. What to do...

How could i tell the size in Amps of a switch? The switch in question is a neon, Immersion Heater control switch.

i'm not talking about designing a MCB into a system - merely looking at the breaker in the box. The mcb in question doesn't show any relevant size detail.

How would you determine the size of an MCB?

How would you check that an I/H is on a dedicated circ only - no spurs?

Q1. How would you test an immersion heater and i/h stat? Q2. Ref. I/H wiring: is a fused switch( typically 16A) necessary, or will a 20A DPswitch(non-fused suffice)?In other words, no fuse reqd. between the C/U and the I/H.
