    Gas pipe sizing question

Thanks DP. What are the regs re pipes under floorboards then? The original pipe went under my lads bedroom before we moved the meter. I take it therefore that it cannot be hidden in a stud wall either?

    Gas pipe sizing question

I needed a boiler fitting before Xmas so was pleased that a local firm was able to do it. The guy who came round seemed very knowledgeable but then he didn’t fit it-he sent 2 young lads. They ran the pipe from the back of the external meter box into the extension in 28mm pipe, which in the...

    Gas pipe question(s)

Rochdalegas - I've just checked again and the 12.5% is correct for notches. I was wrong about the hole sizes though, the max size diameter it is a quarter of the joist depth. Thanks again.

    Gas pipe question(s)

Thanks for your swift reply. I suppose once the ceiling and walls are boarded it won't be so obvious. Are there any requirements not to hide/bury it? I'd always know it's there but not so obvious should I sell the house on in the future. I suppose external would be ok as long as the copper...

    Gas pipe question(s)

Please can any qualified gas plumbers give me some advice? This is NOT for DIY purposes, I just want to know what options are/could have been for the gas supply to our new extension. The extension walls are block work and are not plastered yet. We had the main incoming gas supply moved to an...

Does a 15mm water meter manifold restrict water flow?

Hi everyone. I've tried asking this question on the Internet but there seem to be a lot of conflicting information out there. I am wanting to find out if I would see any improvement in water flow if I were to have my 15mm concentric water meter manifold upgraded along with the incoming water...

    System boiler and cylinder cost?

Thank you for your replies. Ok so maybe I ought to elaborate. I have a combi boiler in the airing cupboard on the landing, which is adjacent to the bathroom. I want to move the boiler out and extend the bathroom into the cupboard area thus creating a shower area. I would like to replace the...

So it does. Am I right though? Is this an acceptable method of connection? This is being given out as advice!

Plumbing connections to internal soil pipe?

Hello all. I saw this illustration/example on a website which gives out advice on DIY. However, I am sure I recall reading previously, that such a connection is not acceptable and will result in cross flow from the toilet into the bath/shower tray? Shouldn't any connection only be made to a...

Thanks Dan. Intergas - that's a new one on me - are these better than Worcester & Vaillant?

    Honeywell Evohome any good?

Hello all. I was previously looking at the Honeywell Evohome system as a means of zoning the entire house. There is also a controller available for the wet underfloor heating. I will be replacing the central heating combi boiler with an unvented pressurised system/boiler, so in doing so I will...

    Advantages of manifold plumbing?

I am beginning the process of planning the plumbing layout from the main house to the extension. I was wondering if there would be a noticeable difference between using manifolds, tapping off to each appliance, or just supplies to the furthest appliance(s) with t-pieces branching off to each...
