    Poor broadband speed

Hooked up a phone and made a call. No noise or distortion either. Conversation perfectly clear. Me thinks this is the best I'll get through copper wire..... may be a cancel with ISP and bite my lip and take BT inifinity... All I need is 2mbps not 28mbps!

    Poor broadband speed

I use speedtest.net to check my online speed. When Sky sent a signal on my line they got the same speed also.

    Poor broadband speed

I moved into a newly built estate and kept my Broadband with Sky, as for £10 a month unlimited, seemed a cracking deal. Anyway, got the letter through the door stating up to 4Mbps and line active from a certain date. Realistically I know the stated speed will only be reached on a very rare...

    Flooring a loft

Thanks. Thankfully I have a garage to store heavier items in now. Did have a lot of weight in the loft in previous flat. Sure, I'll carry out a search and see what I can find. Hopefully I can get a few example pictures of how to do it properly.

Thanks. I did look at the Response alarms, similar to the Yale kit I got and they had a Solar array on the siren box. I read some reviews that solar array on the lid wasn't reliable enough for recharging the batteries. I am sure there are other things out there, but probably outwith my initial...

    Flooring a loft

Ok.... moved into a new house recently and one of the first things I want to do is floor part of the loft space for light storage items such as suitcases etc. The insulation that has been installed by the house builder is about 300mm deep. The height of the insulation does go above the...

LED Kit for YALE Dummy Siren

Firstly.... I am new to this forum and was hoping to get good advice on things I dont know about and possibly give advice on things I do know about it. After all, it is a 'DIY' forum, not a forum to mock the 'unprofessional'. I design High Voltage electricity networks for a living for a...

Is it worth having a system that will ring you up?

No they never defeated it. But I guess they couldn't do much without damaging it. They just kept setting the thing off the whole day. After a certain period, alarm would stop and system would re-arm automatically. Then they'd walk past a PIR, set the thing off and the whole thing would start...

Deleting devices from the YALE 6000 series control box

I tried the correct pin various times but still no luck. Tried disarming right next to control unit just incase I was out of range. But forlorn hope! So got my replacement this very minute to try out. I'll let you know if successful all not. Thanks for your help. :D

Is it worth having a system that will ring you up?

Thankfully my external siren was still in the box at the time as I had to wait til the weekend before borrowing a tall ladder. Anyway, the alarm did the job it's supposed to do, so proved it works. :)

LED Kit for YALE Dummy Siren

Not sure if anybody has shared this before but thought itd be a good idea for any other would be YALE Alarm installers. http://www.esr.co.uk/velleman/mk168.htm You dont need to use the outer casing, just the electronic internals which fit nicely into the dummy siren. Instructions come...

Deleting devices from the YALE 6000 series control box

Installed this system over the weekend. Works a treat and does exactly what it says on the tin. £200 all in all for the Home Premium system with additonal PIR, Door contact and keypad. Everything worked apart from the keypad. Keypad could arm both home and away but could not disbale the...

Is it worth having a system that will ring you up?

First post here! Actually my other topic will be Yale related but minor. So I installed this, house builder set it off. Had about 30 missed calls as he progressed with his work and still kept setting the damn thing off. Never called me to inform me about this either. I tried dialling in...
