I have fit a redring electric shower it's yet to be wired up. But upon turning the water on to check for leaks water started flowing though the shower and out the shower head as if it was switched on. The on button isn't stuck on nor the shower wired up. Does every house need an external soil vent or in some cases will a air admittance valve be OK? Each house just has one stack, for one bathroom.

The other way is to just feed it from the tap?

Bring the cold up first so don't need a 3/4 hole drilling for it. Just a 15mm hole?

I have fit these before and they have come with 1/2inch male threads for a flexi to connect on to will this accept a compression fitting. Need to re pipe to add expansion and prv. Currently has a vented tap.

If you cut a olive off a pipe. Is it usually OK to solder on to where it has been cut off or will the indentation made it hard to solder correctly?

How tight should the female end of a tap connector with a rubber washer in be tightened on a 1/2 male fitting or a iso valve with 1/2inch at one side of the valve? As tight as can by hand and a quarter to half a turn? To avoid over thighting the rubber. Though this is more of an issue I believe...

I have a flexible connector for a 3/8s toilet connector that has a flat fibre washer instead of the rubber washer usually seen in flexible hoses with a female end. Does this style usually seal up ok?
