How do this plumb in? Drill through the unit to the waste/cold connections below?

Have done that before, but means the worktop would need replacing if you ever removed the dishwasher. If a cold supply can be brought up and isolating valve fitted behind the appliance it allows a smaller hole to be drilled for the water supply, then something of a suitable size for the waste hose.
Bring the cold up first so don't need a 3/4 hole drilling for it. Just a 15mm hole?

The other way is to just feed it from the tap?
