    overlay Wet underfloor heating

Expanding on the above question. Has anyone come across any good reviews of the different systems/suppliers? They all look similar, but I am sure some are better than others. Shops will most likely push which sells best / with best profit. Plumbers and installers, similar. So far I have come...

Adding extra sleepwall in breeze block on concrete floor, without mortar?

The over site is pretty thick , as we dug through some foundation of new steel. Can't sister without taking up the floor, if I was to do that I would lay new joists. Ditra is good for lateral but doesn't protect for bounce. Though I will be using it as going wfh across the room which...

Adding extra sleepwall in breeze block on concrete floor, without mortar?

In the Kitchen, there is slight bounce on the kitchen floor we want to tile. The joists are the existing smaller ones from the 70's (I guess), with new 18mm tongue and groove chipboard flooring screwed and glued. The old floor seemed ok, we took it up to make level after knocking through and...

Do I need Ditra on concrete and timber floor

In the kitchen diner we have half , half timber floor. The timber floor is being newly laid so should be solid We are then self levelling the concrete to fill gaps and bring up to timber level, layout wet underfloor overlay boards and finally tiling using flexible adhesive . Should I lay...

Self levelling, should I scrape off old tar?

It's tough and horrible job. I've tried a blade scraper and a wire brush on the grinder. It comes off just about but horrible dust in the air. I am half thinking if it's this tough to get up, then it's never coming up. It's been there 60+ years Plus the wfh won't realistically heat it up...

Self levelling, should I scrape off old tar?

Thanks for the replies. It's a suspended slab so little path for water to rise and dry as a bone in the crawl space under. It's very patchy as you can see from the photos as the , so no longer effective. Plus the parquet has been loose which does take it up, however no damp .

Self levelling, should I scrape off old tar?

Self levelling concrete floor. It has old dry tar probably from the 50's for parquet. I'm levelling for wfh overlay panels. Should I wire brush, Stanley wallpaper scraper scrape it off. It's well down however wondering if wfh could get it up and it break up, causing some delamination from...

Flush ceiling extractor above island in kitchen

We have been thinking of an led lit cloud, but it is going in a quadrant of a kitchen extension which has a cross of steel beams to open up the room, so thought more roof furniture might make it look busy. Would be good to have them as Hue strips "Alexa, start the fans please", well cool for...

Flush ceiling extractor above island in kitchen

We are putting the induction hob on the island and looking at ceiling mounted extractor fan. Has anyone fitted one flush to the ceiling ie the workings fit between the joists so you don't have to create a box or lower whole ceiling? Thanks

Moving Master socket, doubling up for a day or so

All done, in one day, Cheers. The cable I bought online was so thin a misplaced wack with the hammer nearly cut it in two. Now I just have to fit the RF45's in the house.. Fun

Good point, I wasn't thinking straight, I was thinking of limiting time up a ladder, but yep will do in 2 stages :)

Moving Master socket, doubling up for a day or so

Moved into a house, where the master socket is hidden somewhere in the loft (the old guys geek den), with the actual socket we use downstairs, by a flappy cable. I want to move the master socket and BT router to under the stairs. There is a junction box on the wall, I had a look at it and got...

LVT or Engineered Oak over a Wet UFH

Thanks we are looking to lay about 20mm insulation on the concrete, then the boards that take the pipes. For the wood floor we are looking to lay insulation between the joists then the same to match levels. If the floor is in zones will I be able to balance the heat across the floor? I am...

LVT or Engineered Oak over a Wet UFH

We are trying to decide on LVT or Engineered Oak over a Wet UFH in the kitchen. The floor is 50% suspended concrete, 50% suspended timber There is no insulation under the concrete. We want to minimise the buildup, as we don't want a huge step between rooms and at the bottom of the stairs (not...

2nd Bathroom Extractor Fan can we spur off existing?

The door ajar has helped, so will keep an eye on how it goes. I was concerned that condensation around the edges of the panes, on the wood windows may eventually affect the frame.

    Moduleo LVF

Hi @nabby68 We are planning to do something similar to you. Kitchen extension part concrete slap, part suspended timber. Looking to lay LVT (over Wet UFH, so slight different), 46 Mtr square. How did yours go? What approach did you take with glueing etc? Any tips of lessons you could give...

2nd Bathroom Extractor Fan can we spur off existing?

Thanks Taylor, You hit open the 1st and most obvious, air can't get in. The extractor is next to a window and opposite the door. Would you leave the door open a jar to create air flow? I'm not sure how powerful it is, it has "Istok" on it but can't find it online. It's only 6 months old...
