    Reclaimed rosemary prices

I did he made out he had misplaced it, this was after I had seen him looking at it for the phone number about 1 hour earlier. I just wanted to know the rough going rate for the tiles not an exact price.

    Reclaimed rosemary prices

New roof nearing completion on my third bedroom extension and the builder has over ordered the tiles, there are 650 plain reclaimed rosemarys and 17reclaimed rosemary hip bonnets left over. He said he would return the tiles and knock the money off the final bill, problem is he said the tiles...

    Lead valleys

Asked builder and he said there isn't enough gap when you use rosemarys and if you did put in an upstand it would make the tiles kick up. I must admit the gap didn't look big enough but should he have done something to create a gap that would allow an upstand and the tiles to lay flat.

I'm sure there is no upstand I think it's layed flat on the boards, plus I noticed a couple of nails through the lead. Will have a look tommorrow and if it's wrong will ask him to put it right. Thanks for the help.

    Kingspan

I did think of that but thought there would be too much waste, another way I thought of doing it was to have the 150mm sat on some supports in between the joists so it protrudes 50mm above joist, then cut strips of 50mm thick kingspan to fill in the gaps above the joists.

    Kingspan

Just had a flat roof converted to a pitched tiled roof and planned to insulate with kingspan. I was going to fill the joists with 150mm as they are over 150mm deep but builder recommended 100mm between ceiling joists and 50mm on top of that. The reason for this he said is the wooden joists act...

    Kingspan Insulation thickness

Why would it make a difference how good the insulation is elsewhere in the property, please explain. He said he'd worked it out and it's better to over insulate than under but @£49 a sheet it's expensive. Anyone know where it can be bought cheaper BTW the insulation is not up to spec...

    Kingspan Insulation thickness

Work is starting on my flat to pitched roof conversion on a semi third bedroom extension next week, the builder has recommended 150mm thick kingspan to fit in between the existing flat roof rafters which are 150mm deep, seems a bit OTT to me as I have read kingspan is at least twice as efficient...

    Flat to pitched roof quotes.

I've been getting in quotes for a flat to pitched roof conversion on a third bedroom extension, the quotes range from £3000 to £5500 so quite a difference in price. The cheapest quote came from weathershield roofing contractors ltd based in Leeds and the guy seemed to know what he was on about...

    Black Fascias and soffits

I'm shortly having the roof on my third bedroom converted from flat to pitched and as part of the job new fascias, soffits and gutters are being fitted. I have asked the roofer for black instead of the more common white but he said the cost of black is 3 to 4 times more. I've looked though the...

    Travertine bath panel

Fitting a Laufen form bath with an aluminium frame to which the bath panel fixes then I will be tiling the panel with 457mm x 305mm travertine tiles. I was going to use 18mm wpb but it will be too thick when the tiles are fixed to it so I thought about 12mm wpb or aqua panel, but will these be...

    Plastering tools

Thanks for replies, been trawling through internet but can't make up my mind. Any more thoughts on what sizes to go for considering I only done a couple of ceilings and walls before. Would 13" be more suitable for a beginner. I think my shopping list will be as follows 13"/14" ss trowel...

    Plastering tools

Decided to invest in a full set of plastering trowels, tools etc but not sure what size trowels I should get and what other tools I should buy. I have plastered before to an ok standard using cheapo trowels but they have gone rusty and pitted so thought about buying stainless steel. I will be...
