Is it ok to have a wash basin and toilet in a room off the kitchen? Sure this use to be an issue at some point?

My thinking is to give a better fixing for the skirting at the bottom, if I don't put anything there then there is a void, if it is kicked or when carpet is fitted it could force it off?

The gap is about 11mm deep, and runs round most the room where the plaster has come off. The skirting will cover the plaster as it will be taller, however just not sure on the best way to fill the 11mm gap and how to keep it flush. The walls are going to be skimmed too.

I'm after a cancealed mixer valve shower, however struggling to fine one that looks good and is from a good brand, Aqualisa showers don't look great and there isn't a very good range of concealed valves.

Looking at showers and have found a nice Bristan one, and a nice Grohe one, from research Grohe is great quality but how much better? there is a £150 price difference between the two, is the Grohe £150 better?

After taking the skirting off it has pulled the plaster off leaving a timber base with brickwork on top. See image... What is the best way to fill this gap with, screw some plasterboard to the timber? Then skim?

They do a IP65 version, but want some in brushed chrome, any other recommendations?

Should all electricians be Part P registered then? How would I know? Is this the same as NICEIC? It's all so confusing!

Thanks guys. So no new board required. Once the work is completed I should get a Electrical Installation Certificate then? Anything else? Does the Part P stuff come into the equation? (Still no idea what it means to me a customer other than a legislation to keep me safe.. I think)

How would you know if no scrim tap was used? The cracks go the lengths of the plaster boards creating a grid on the ceiling, are they likely to quickly come back once filled?
