Hello - my sockets RCD tripped the other day and all sockets upstairs and downstairs went off - all well and good so far - but all the lights in the house were on , and I see in the (GE Euroline) CU that there is only one RCD trip and that is protecting the sockets only - the Lighting Circuit...
Hello all - Has anyone seen or heard of brass side entry ballcock valve for the Header Tank in the loft ,but for low pressure mains water, or do they even exist? - All I can find when I do a search is the high 1/2"pressure brass ones - I can find high and low pressure Toilet cistern ones but...
I live in Ireland and over here we have a TV advert running at the moment on nationwide TV station about "If you are going to call out an electrician they must be RECI (Registered Electrical Contractors of Ireland) certified electricians and they say 'Its the Law!' "
What's the score in...
Hello all - thank you very much for your replies and very sorry never got back sooner. - I put a weather station with a humidity reading on it and it never went over 67% so thats most probably why in never came on, have since removed the fan and took it back to shop and just open up window now...
Hello - I have this 4" Extractor Fan with a Timer and Humidistat circuit board in it - there are 2 adjuster screws (pots) and one is for timer, one controls humidistat. For using timer you need 3 wires, 1 neutral, and 2 Lives (1 switched live, 1 permanant live) - the wires I have coming into the...
going back a couple of years back I took out the burner to clean the bottom of the combustion chamber of soot/rust/dirt and im sure when i looked at the blast tube it was of a black sooty colour same as the blast tube on the cooker burner. I cant think why its white on it now, apart from maybe...
Burner was making a whining noise, and 'crack' noise as it was heating up. took off the motor/fan off cooker burner (because we dont use cooker part) and put the motor complete with its blower fan (which was really clean due to hardly any use) in place of the CH burner motor/blower fan - so now...
Hello. we have a Stanley 80 twin cooker with 2 burners in one for CH part, one for cooker part. I had it apart yesterday to clean out combustion chamber and noted that the blast tube on the CH burner had this white bloom on it. The boiler/cooker had a service nov 2015. Both burners on the cooker...
Thanks, got the bath second hand so it didnt come with it - i suppose I can find a bolt easily enough to fit into it , or put some blocks of wood underneath as mentioned
Hi the 4 (screw adjustable) foot supports rest straight to concrete floor (not resting on wood) - but in the middle of the bath underneath is a black bracket attached to the wooden board under the bath - should i put a long bolt in that bracket and support the bat there too or does the bath have...
Our (old I know) Triton T90i Pumped Electric Shower which is Tank fed is very low pressure out of the shower head (have descaled head and tried another shower head so its not limescale)- The tank is up in the loft but its a Bungalow we live in , so Im thinking maybe not enough head height from...
Happy new year everyone. - I have one of these old Drayton wireless Digistat RF1 is there any way to make the transmitter go all the way down to 5 degrees centigrade at all (documented or not documented, or taken apart and 'hacked' with shorting out something inside) the lowest I can get it to...
thanks for the reply, so does that mean that blocking the cavity wall gap at the top with fibreglass shouldnt have any effect then or does airflow have to freely go from the loft space to the cavity wall or vice-versa ?
is fibreglass Loft insulation supposed to cover the air gap cavity between inner and outer wall in the loft space? or are you supposed to just insulate up to the inner wall edge - in other words do you take the insulation all the way to the eaves or should free air in the loft circulate down the...
ah right, thats what it could be - im not too sure but yes i think the clothes were near to getting dry when i plugged in the energy meter so indeed it could be that thanks.
oh right i see what your saying - but in that case why does the Beko instruction book say it dries synthetics at a lower temperature when it uses the same wattage as on the cottons/coloreds temperature ?
Ive been observing the wattage my BEKO Drvs62 Tumble Drier uses (as you do!). I have one of these plug in Digital energy meters. When I set the tumble dryer on Cottons ready to wear it reads 1573w and then after 30 seconds it reads 2103w well thats fine because cottons should have high heat...
