    Flexi tails from stop cock

Well, I have to connect flexi tails at some point. Are you saying that I shouldn’t use flexi tails at all, or I should use it a little bit closer to the tap itself? Please clarify before calling me a bodge.

    Flexi tails from stop cock

Lol, well I can put the the old piping back. What if I clipped the flexi tail to the wall?

    Flexi tails from stop cock

I just replaced a seized stopcock with a lever one. I thought of the idea, as it is the hot tap, of connecting the flexi tails directly to this stopcock instead of bothering with copper pipe. Are there any issues with this or all looks fine? Photos are attached.

    Mixer tap missing screw

I was being dopey, the hose was meant to screw onto this. The missing screw os just for mounting. However it is leaking a bit during operation. Do you know what I can use to stop the leak here? I tried a bit of PTFE tape but hard to get it in position and it still leaks.

    Mixer tap missing screw

Just bought this mixer tap off facebook for next to nothing but the guy who sold it to me said the screw on the bottom of the yellow threaded pipe is missing. When I connect the tap water just comes straight out of it. Do you know where I can find the missing part?

    Sewer gases kitchen sink

I have installed a new sink but sewer gases are coming out of it or the piping and smelling the room. I hear it gurgling occasionally too. Attached is a photo of the setup. The left P trap is for the dishwasher but smell seems to be coming from the sink. Anything that seems obviously wrong at...

The live cable that usually goes to the switch was connected to the light directly instead of the switched live.

    HELP! Downlight not working

I'll just get a sparky in. But sounds like I did not damage it by first not having a switch?

    HELP! Downlight not working

It has never worked. The downlight is Enlight DLM982X. It says max 50W ans 220-240V on the box. I tried first using 5W dimmable LED, and it says 220-240V on the box. Then I tried with a non-dimmable 3.1W. Doesn’t say the voltage and still no luck. Power was getting to the downlight. I then...

    HELP! Downlight not working

Hello, I cannot get a replacement downlight working for some reason. I briefly connected it without a switch just for testing. Could it have damaged it by bypassing the switch? Or does this have no bad consequences?

    Larder recessed into stud wall

It’s more about whether recessing a unit into a stud wall is allowed, or whether the plasterboard has to be continuous on both sides for fire safety reasons.

    Larder recessed into stud wall

I have just ripped out the old plaster/plasterboard from the side wall in my kitchen, which has the bathroom behind it, and have just discovered that an old door used to be there. I would like to put a larder unit in the right half of the old door frame. Question is, am I allowed to have the...
