When I connect the tap water just comes straight out of it. Do you know where I can find the missing part?

The brass rod is probably for a filtered water supply. Does the tap handle/handles have three positions ? So you can have mains cold ,hot or filtered cold ?

Think he has sold you a dud !
On some taps that are made to have a filtered supply ,they have 3 handles. Others have only two ,but one handle can move into two positions. Can't see your tap handles in pic ,what are they like ?

image.jpg I was being dopey, the hose was meant to screw onto this. The missing screw os just for mounting. However it is leaking a bit during operation. Do you know what I can use to stop the leak here?

I tried a bit of PTFE tape but hard to get it in position and it still leaks.
