you won't have any problems with direct burial of pvc cables as long as there is no real risk of mechanical damage or movement at any time in the future.

Put it on a 30ma rcd and you can sleep at night, make sure you have a suitably rated mcb dowstream of it though, rcd's only look at phase difference, not overload.

If you have a concealed junction box with screwed terminals you're asking for trouble. If you absolutely need to do this with no other option, make sure your cables are at least soldered in the jb. Obviously all the normal R1 + R2, Zs readings, time to disconnect requirements apply...

One last piece of information. I intend to install this floor from 'front to back' on the ground floor of my house. Starts off in a small vestibule 1.5x1.5metres, goes into the living room 5x5metres then finishing up in the dining room 3x4metres. Is this too large an area for a floating floor?
