just what i was about to say - have you been re-coating when the under coat wasn't properly dry ... and maybe adding a bit too much paint so you get the job finished quicker? - been there, done that and it resulted in fine cracks - mainly around the corners where i 'loaded' the brush.

personal preference i reckon i prefer pads because you don't get the 'splash back' like you do from rollers... but saying that i don't think you get quite as good a finish. on another point - i got some el-cheapO pads from wickes - they did the job but fell apart after a wall or two so i...
