    Drinking water tap stopped working

Thanks for that, the valve on the tap does seem to work a bit, if I lift the valve lever a small bit I do get water coming out, if I open a lot then the tap vibrates a lot and makes quite aloud noise, maybe through starvation, will change filter

    Drinking water tap stopped working

I have a line going from my mains water, through a cartridge filter and to a small tap on the sink. The tap seemed like it just stopped working, they never put an isolation valve in the line either so that you can turn the line off without needing to turn the mains off, need to find out if the...

    Replacing fluorescent light

My fluorescent light takes forever to come on, when I say forever, it must be 10 sec. Is this a sign that it is on its way out. Has been there a long time so maybe change the whole light out, I see new ones have a Prismatic Diffuser, what on earth is that??????

End of mixer tap came off.

I have a mixer tap in the kitchen sink, the fine filter has come out of the inside of the spout, without this the water goes all over the place, can you buy these type of spares or is a new tap required?

    Fuse blowing

Just had a call from a relative, said her dog had leaked over her extension lead, she plugged her washing machine in and the plug went bang and went a bit black, fuse in cupboard also tripped, she said she changed the fuse in the plug but it blew again. The plug is a moulded one so whats the...

    Shower pressure drop off

I did have this trouble once before but have been in the loft today and the float valve seems to be working ok. My shower head was 2ft above the mixer valve which was fully on and water was dribbling out, think i will need to open the mixer tomorrow and check filters, last time it was the lever...

    Shower pressure drop off

I have a mixer shower off an open vented system, my shower is a Mira fino, I noticed that after running for a little while the pressure drops off a fair bit. If I lower the shower head to the floor I can hear the pressure starting to pick up, I does sound like it is clearing air from the system...

    ting a FitSalamander pump

I'm gonna bite the bullet and fit a Salamander pump to boost the shower pressure, thinking of the RSP 50 for my open vent gravity system, i read these pumps are easy to install, are they really easy enough to install, how long would it take a tradesman to fit and roughly how much, more than £100 ?

New shower / hose not quite up to previous power.

I did as Charnwood suggested and stuck the old shorter hose on and certainly alot better for some reason, only a foot shorter and ID looked about the same, wife a bit happier anyway.

New shower / hose not quite up to previous power.

May be something to do with the hose, the more i move the shower head up the rail, the less pressure i get ( as you would expect ), but i stand in the showter at 6ft and get no water out of the shower head. The hose is a fair bit longer which must make a fair bit of difference because the point...

New shower / hose not quite up to previous power.

I had to change the rail on my shower as the hanger was knackered, i bought a new rail which also had a new shower head and hose. After i fitted the new hose/head/rail i noticed the power didn't seem as good as before, the hose is longer than the last one, in the pack with the new hose was 2...

    Bond bricks together

I recently had a new boiler fitted, due to the new one being smaller I have been left with a bit of a hole in the outside wall, the guy who fitted the boiler had bricks but they were nothing like the main brick. I have found one extremely similar but best deal I can see is £100 to get 50 bricks...

    Screws working loose

The door is not too big, everything is in line and there is no fouling at all, maybe longer screws would be better. At work you tie wire bolts together to stop backing out, is there a screw you can use that has some sort of anti rotation facility on it.
