    Internal air brick removal

Apologies there seems to be an existing post on this , just looks like it's a case of getting a flat blade behind it and lifting it out , trying not to break it. https://www.diynot.com/diy/threads/wall-vent-removal.617321/ Thanks.

    Internal air brick removal

I thought about it but then I'm assuming that all the crud in there would then just sit between the internal and external brick and work it's was back into mesh ,

Welding on a new mains tap handle

The actual " handle" of my mains water tap has become loose , it just turns , ive removed the little screw and taken it off , the fixing is mangled , however can be turned with a small spanner , now I know that I could put the handle back on and tack it with a small weld , however is there a...

New tap is leaking through the sink

It does have a groove , so apologies , what do I need to do with that ? It's a square groove , I suppose that I could fit a thin round washer into a square groove with some manipulation.

New tap is leaking through the sink

Thanks , I did think of silicone however the washer is also to prevent me cracking the sink , I suppose I could always leave washer on and silicone the gap , also poundland is not a bad idea , I was going to cut one out of a plastic milk bottle but I think that they start to biodegrade after a...

New tap is leaking through the sink

I've fitted this new tap , however due to the base of it being a D shape the excess water is dripping through the hole in the sink , I bought the tap as ex display , reduced from £130 to a £10 charity donation at wickes so it was without a washer to go between sink and tap , can these be...

    Can I remove water meter

When I moved into my house 25 years ago there was a digital water meter , for approx 10 years my water charges were determined by that , however it stopped working , after a few letters from Severn Trent asking to come and replace it ( bearing in mind this was 15 years ago ) , they stopped...

    Draining boiler through old prv

I've just bought a new prv as combi one is dripping quite badly , I've replaced a few in the past , no problem, is there any reason why I shouldn't use faulty prv to drain system first , If i open the loop and prv would it just run clean water in whilst dumping the old water out , only reason I...

    Outside hose fitting

I had a look at the top one in the shop and due to the cut off tap the flow only comes through a small hole that isn't much bigger than the self cutting tap that came with the kit do you think this is sufficient for a pressure washer?

    Outside hose fitting

I've bought an outside hose kit, it's exactly what it said it would be ( not suitable for pressure washers) I imagine this is due to the self cutting tap that has the same pressure as my late 40s bladder, I've bought a 15 mm Tee compression to replace it, however I can't find a 3/4 male (...

    Reconditioned pcb, now what!

I've just bought a reconditioned pcb for my ferroli 901, I've had one in the past from the same company no problems, when I plugged this one in the leds just come on very faintly and go off, the clock works and the pump runs but nothing else, is this likely to be a faulty board, all wires...

    Possible external expansion tank error

Ok, Ive done all that now , no change , I think theres now a PCB problem , to be honest the external vessel addition went well but now it wont click on ignition and all the relays are buzzing , my theory is this , i think power isnt going to parts of the board , stopping it lighting and also...

    Possible external expansion tank error

I've just fitted an external expansion vessel to my ferroli as the internal one was passing a lot of water, it's created another problem, it all went well, fitted to return pipe ( i double checked) joint eventually stopped leaking but then.... When I fire up the boiler in burns for about...
