    Just got a smaple of Tredaire Boardwalk and although its 5mm its not enough to even the floor out.. The man selling the underlay wont be installing the laminate.... Looks like its gonna need to be leveled..... oh the joys....

    Thanks flooringman, I went into a carpet shop today and explained that the floor was uneven. The guy in the shop reckons I can by broadwalk underlay which is thicker than normal and this will sort it out? Do you think this will work?

    Hi Magrah, Thanks for the tips.. THe ceiling is plasterboard and so is pretty even. I've got a mixing paddle and drill so should be able to mix it up quick enough?

    Hi, Thanks for all your tips... I will definitely be wearing goggles after reading everything on here. As ceilings are a lot harder to do I might get a professional in. Thing is we have had as few spreads who have done poor jobs so would rather do it myself if that makes sense?

    Hi, Thanks for your response. I dont think the floor is bitumen as its about 10mm thick. It doesnt have squares in it either.... Would a picture of it help? I've been looking at leveling compounds. Whats the best one to get for this type of floor? Thanks in advance

    Thanks for all the replies. We've had a 2nd opinion from a different plasterer and he reckons the plaster is bad. He said its either the plaster was out of date or it went off too quickly.

    Thanks for your reply James. Its so frustrating. Someone else suggested stripping the paint off and starting again but that will take time and could cause damage to the new plaster. Hows your paint looking now you've brushed it on and the used a roller?
