Yep, it's a snug fit. Would something like no nails work? I've got plenty of that lying around. Thank you again, I sincerely appreciate your advice and prompt replies.

Thanks again. I had a go with a plug. Just wanted to check this is what you meant before I apply silicone adhesive (i.e. sanitary sealant?)

How to remove sink waste from soil stack boss

Thank you. I've managed to get the waste pipe off, but the light grey ring isn't coming off and is just turning freely. I assume that I can just push fit the plug you mentioned straight into the light grey ring and put some solvent weld on for good measure?

How to remove sink waste from soil stack boss

Hi, I'm removing a second sink I had in my utility room that connects to a soil stack (see attached photo). I want to get it as close to the stack as possible as the whole thing needs to be boxed in. The uPVC waste pipe looks like it's been glued on with solvent. Any advice on how I can get it...

    Help with boxing in pipes

This does look very interesting, but I'm mindful that it may be tricky to affix a splashback too and also we would want to paint it and match the finish on the walls.

    Help with boxing in pipes

Hi all, I'd really appreciate some help with boxing in these unsightly pipes in my kitchen that run through the worktop. I'm planning to box it down to worktop height and then have quartz countertop and splashback. I'm assuming I affix a batten against the wall, then noggins at short intervals...

Breeze blocks came away from kitchen window sill

Hi all, In the process of ripping out my old kitchen splashback tiles, I found out the house builders had botched the interior breeze block wall. Bathroom Mirror light

Hi, Should bathroom mirror lights come straight of the lighting circuit or be powered via the isolation switch that extractor fans are connected to? I'm wondering how else they can be isolated without going to the CU everytime. Thanks in advance!

    Armoured Fibre Optic Cable

Hi all, I'm looking for some advice regarding the fitting of armoured coaxial cable for virgin media. Unfortunately I live in a dodgy area where the youths go round and cut the BT or Virgin cables outside your house for fun. My virgin Fibre cable comes is very close to my door and it disappears...

Can I use 1+1 knockout box for cooker

Sorry I don't quite follow? Could you explain that again please? The 32a switch I have requires a single knockout box and the same for the cooker outlet plate. Is that ok?

Can I use 1+1 knockout box for cooker

I have to mount them quite close together anyway as my oven is going into a vertical unit and the switch will be in the unit above, so I thought why not have them in a 1 + 1 knock out box? It also means I don't have to cut an additional chase for the outlet plate.

Can I use 1+1 knockout box for cooker

Hi all, Is it advisable to use a 1+1 knock out box to install my 32a switch and cooker outlet plate side by side? Also I can't find a 32a outlet plate so could I use a 45a outlet plate instead?

    Cable for 32a / 6.3KW double oven

Hi all, would a 32amp DP switch be suitable for the oven I have listed here? Also do I need to then wire the DP switch to an unswitched cooker connection unit? Or can I wire the oven to the DP switch?
