    Wiring kitchen cabinet lighting

I understand, but I have found drivers that can be fed via a dimmer. Any thoughts on how I'm planning to wire the lights?

    Wiring kitchen cabinet lighting

Hi all, I'd like to wire my kitchen cabinet led strip lights in a way that allows me to to control them from a dimmer switch on the wall. My plan is to wire in another dimmer from the kitchen light/downstairs lighting circuit, then run the switched live and neutral into a MF junction box and...

Loud horn noise after unvented cylinder service

Sorry for the late reply, the noise stops after a while when the hot water is running. I'd say after 5-10 seconds. Shall I let some air out? Also the EV was taken off and the water was pumped out using a bike pump before it was repressurised if that helps?

Loud horn noise after unvented cylinder service

Hi all, I've just had my unvented cylinder serviced and the expansion vessel repressurised (it had lost pressure completely) and I was getting a drip through the tundish. Now the cylinder/expansion vessel makes a really loud and unbearable noise (like a fog horn) everytime we turn the taps on...

    Moving a socket

Thank you, the J804 worked a treat. One other question if I may. Is it possible to feed two separate sockets from the junction box that I've put in? One socket will be a dedicated fused spur for a washing machine and the second will be a double socket in my dining room. I will be wiring them...

Help with choosing a 10-way RCBO Consumber Unit

I appreciate the input, but I would still like to get a feel for what's out there and understand the differences between them. I dont like not knowing why the engineer or fitter has chosen something. I've had bad experience in the past when people have fitted the cheapest rubbish they could find...

    Moving a socket

Sorry, edited my post. Cables run from the ceiling cavity but I'm unable to chase them back to the previous and next sockets as they go through the floorboards in the floor above.

    Moving a socket

Hi, I've taken out a stud wall in my kitchen which also housed a socket. Currently the wires and socket are hanging from the ceiling. I need to remove this socket or ideally relocate it, but the cables aren't long enough to move to where I need the new socket. Alternatively, I can't chase the...

Anybody know how to wire this wall sconce?

I bought this off Amazon but it has no wiring instructions and the wires are not marked for neutral or live. Any ideas?

Boiler making loud noises and then error code F2 - Video added

Thank you all for the advice. Ideal engineer came round and diagnosed it as a dirty injector. He also informed me that many plumbers overlook to clean it during services and it then needs to be replaced. Next time I'll be going direct to Ideal for servicing. They were absolutely fantastic and...

Boiler making loud noises and then error code F2 - Video added

Thanks Ian, not looking to touch anything myself. But just wanted a steer on what could be the root cause and whether an Ideal warranty might cover this?

Boiler making loud noises and then error code F2 - Video added

Hi, My ideal logic boiler has been making this noise in the morning when we have our hot water cycle on. It does this 3-4 times each morning. This morning I managed to film it happening. We're still getting hot water but I'm worried this could become worse or knacker my boiler. I've just had my...

Cleaning my system - No inhibitor used previously

Thanks. It's not had any inhibitor in it for at least 2 years. Hence my thoughts about cleaning it first.

Cleaning my system - No inhibitor used previously

Can you elaborate. Is this from personal experience? How would the damage manifest itself? What could go wrong?

Cleaning my system - No inhibitor used previously

I bought X800 as I think it needs a good clean. Do I need to run the central heating for it to work?
