    thanks for the reply after reading on the internet a few people say use coca cola or washing powder, not sure if thats just to get rid of a stain or get rid of the diesel. its gone to far just to stain it. will this work and stop the diesel spreading.

    Its abit of a werid set up, theres a T piece further down the line which goes into a joist, so will not move. So your worryed that it might damage it? if so i will change it, dont want to risk it.

    I am about to put a downlight close to a plastic pushfit connetor, it will be about 50mm away. could damage or melt it? one idea is to put tin foil between them to act as a barrier and reflect the heat back.

    The downlights i was looking at buying, says the minimum distance to a joist is 50mm. If i was to buy a downlight fire hood could i put the downlight closer to a joist? thanks
